What do the some of the staff at Miracle Maids do on their time off, while not cleaning houses? Well, for some of them, they love fishing for bass!
There are so many great bass fishing spots around the greater Austin area. There are countless spots along Brushy Creek in north Austin and of course Lady Bird Lake especially around the Barton Creek area.
Our two guys, Mike and Luke, prefer to fish early morning just before dawn or evening just at dusk and for the next hour after sundown. This is the best time of the day to catch good sized bass and it also doesn’t cut into time dedicated to running Miracle Maids home cleaning service.
They were out a couple of months ago in the late evening near Red Bird Isle, just west of downtown Austin, where Luke caught this nice bass.
It was about an hour after sunset with bats from the Congress Street Bridge still foraging for insects. They were bait casting with medium-heavy rods which were set up using creature bait with Texas style rig and a palomar knot.
While getting a little bit wetter than he would have liked, Luke reeled in this 7 pounder. Mike took the video with his I-phone which is equipped with a waterproof case.
Shortly after, the two of them headed up to 6th Street in downtown Austin for a celebratory cold one. By that time, the 7 pounder was likely a 10 pound lunker. But we have the video evidence!
